Why Metabolic Health Matters

Metabolic changes often begin quietly, without obvious symptoms.

Factors such as stress, poor sleep, sedentary lifestyle and irregular meals contribute to:

Rising fasting glucose

Insulin resistance

Fatty liver

High cholesterol

Weight gain & increased visceral fat

Thyroid or hormonal imbalance

Rising fasting glucose

Insulin resistance

Fatty liver

High cholesterol

Weight gain & increased visceral fat

Thyroid or hormonal imbalance

These changes progress slowly and may cause long-term complications if not detected early.

Metabolic Health screening gives you clarity, insight and an opportunity to take early action

Preventive Care vs. Sick Care

Most metabolic conditions develop gradually over years, often without noticeable symptoms at the start.

Preventive Care is Proactive.

At The Metabolic Clinic, we identify early changes so you can intervene early before irreversible changes or disease occurs.

Sick Care is Reactive.

Dealing with disease only after symptoms arise, often when the condition has caused irreversible damage and is difficult to reverse.

Why Early Detection Matters

Metabolic conditions such as insulin resistance, high cholesterol and fatty liver cause no pain or warning signs. By the time symptoms occur, complications may already be present.

Early identification helps you:

Prevent or delay disease progression

Reduce long-term medication needs

Avoid irreversible organ complications

Maintain metabolic and cardiovascular health

Improve overall longevity and healthspan

Make more informed decisions about lifestyle and long-term wellbeing

At the Metabolic Clinic, we believe in the importance of preventive care. We aim to prevent disease by mitigating risk factors that compromise longevity.

Our screening offers meaningful insights into your current health status and, more importantly, provides expert guidance to help you improve it. With a strong emphasis on metabolic function, every test we choose for our panels has a clear clinical purpose and measurable, actionable targets.

Blood tests + Specialist Consultation

A foundational screen for anyone interested in understanding their baseline metabolic health. This panel targets common risk factors for chronic disease, focusing on cardiovascular, kidney, liver, bone , thyroid and nutritional markers. This includes lipoprotein (a), a genetic cause of elevated cardiovascular risk that should be done by everyone at least once in their lives.

Blood tests + 1 scan (DEXA bone mineral density) + Specialist Consultation

This package adds two critical dimensions to your health check: cancer screening and bone health. A DEXA scan for bone mineral density, interpreted by a specialist, gives early insight into osteoporosis risk. Tumour marker screening helps assess malignancy risk. These two risk factors affect longevity and healthspan.

Targeted Tests to Personalise Your Screening Further

These optional investigations can be added to any screening package to provide deeper insight based on your specific health risks, lifestyle, or family history.

SPOT-MAS
Multi-Cancer Early Detection

S$650

Next generation multi-cancer screening using ctDNA technology to screen for cancer more accurately than traditional tumor marker screening. Detects 10 of the cancers accounting for 70 percent of all cancer mortality in Singapore. This includes Breast, Lung, Colorectum, Stomach, Liver-biliary tract, Ovary, Pancreas, Oesophagus, Uterus and Head/neck cancer.

Liver Elastography (Fibroscan) + Liver Ultrasound

S$350

The best way to check for scarring of the liver from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease which is extremely common in those with metabolic disease and is the projected number one cause of liver disease in the future. Highly recommended in those who are overweight or suffer from diabetes/metabolic syndrome.

Low-Dose CT Scan for Lung Cancer

S$415

Suggested for those who are ex-smokers/current-smokers aged 50 and above. This scan has been demonstrated to reduce the rate of lung cancer related death.

CT Coronary Angiogram (with Calcium Score)

S$1350

The best non-invasive investigation into potential heart blockages and heart risk. Advised for those with a long history of metabolic syndrome/significant family history of heart disease.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our metabolic health screening includes blood tests, scan(s), and a consultation to assess insulin resistance, lipid health, organ function, and nutritional status.

This screening is suitable for individuals looking to take a proactive approach to ageing, prevent chronic diseases, and optimise their long-term health and vitality.

Unlike standard health checks, our screening targets medically relevant, actionable biomarkers linked to long-term metabolic health and ageing. It includes endocrinologist-led consultations, specialist scan interpretation, and personalised plans aimed at improving healthspan.

Lipoprotein(a) is a genetic cholesterol marker linked to higher heart disease risk and it is included in all our packages for early detection.

DEXA scans measure bone density and body composition, which provides insight into osteoporosis risk, fat distribution, and muscle mass.

Tumour markers include tests for colorectal, liver, ovarian, prostate, pancreatic, and other cancers, based on your gender and risk.

SPOT-MAS uses ctDNA (circulating tumour DNA) technology to screen for 10 common cancers more accurately and earlier than conventional tumour marker tests.

The recommended frequency depends on your results and individual risk factors, but most patients benefit from repeat testing every 1 to 2 years. Your doctor will advise you accordingly.

Most health screening packages are not claimable under Medisave, but certain scans may be covered by insurance. Please check with your insurance provider for confirmation.

Yes, fasting for 8–10 hours is recommended for accurate glucose, insulin, and lipid panel results. Water is allowed during the fast.
